Our History
From the world of the most desired motors; to immersion in nature producing one of the most renowned products in the World
In 1976 thanks to the strong desire of Grandma Rita, to maintain the Modenese tradition, to give her children a battery of Balsamic Vinegar, the first battery of the Venturelli family was started followed in 1977 and 1979 by the other two batteries one for each member of the family.
During these years grandfather Franco and grandmother Rita with Barbara and Claudio lived in a small terraced house in Solignano where they carefully guarded the three batteries.
Grandma Rita's desire was always to have a farmhouse where she could be in the midst of nature, taking care of the countryside that she always loved and in which she was born and raised....
Grandpa Franco was manufacturing manager at Ferrari for many years, and later moved to Lamborghini until he became general manager and member of the board of directors.
In 1983, with the connections he gained in the automotive industry, he created a foundry that produced sports engine parts for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Bugatti...
Finally in 1990 grandfather Franco crowned grandmother Rita's dream by purchasing this farmhouse, of about 8 hectares ,in Castelvetro di modena with 6 hectares of hillside vineyards, with grape production now dedicated to the production of our Oro Nero di Modena, and wine processing

Nonna rita, Claudio and Annalisa the wife of Claudio, also a lover of nature living in a farmhouse in the country with cows and chickens; they then began to express their passion for nature and took care of the 6 hectares of vineyard with also some fruit trees.

In 2007 Claudio and Annalisa moved here to La Vedetta and in the following year so did the Grandparents, as more space in the under roof was started 4 more batteries for granddaughters Alessandra, Beatrice, Giulia and Chiara.
The vinegar until now produced with love and care was mainly for family use and for some friends, as indeed was all the land around us, it was our oasis, it was the place where we took refuge after a long and busy day of work.
Barbara, Franco and Rita's eldest daughter, would have liked to open the doors of this little oasis of peace to the public to show them nature and the goodness it generates in us, but it probably wasn't the right time yet; Grandma Rita always wanted a farmhouse in the country of her own.
But life sometimes puts you in front of hard choices; in 2012, due to the earthquake in the lower Modena area, the family foundry collapsed... a new life was needed, there was a need for redemption, and so Claudio and Annalisa opened a small B&B here at La Vedetta making the history of Balsamic known and allowing guests to enjoy the magnificent nature that surrounds us....
So people started talking about Vedetta and many wanted to celebrate the most important moments of their lives in the heart of our nature, among the hills of Castelvetro
In 2020 we built the new Family Acetaia, extending the production with Balsamic Vinegar IGP and various Condiments always based on cooked must
Now with the new farmhouse we are ready to give you secrets that are handed down from generation to generation; making you live an experience surrounded by nature; because after all, that is what we miss more than anything else today...
